So I thought that over my next few posts I would blog about my wedding! I seriously had my fairy tale wedding! The Lord was so good to my husband and me, and all the details and venues just kinda fell in place! Ryan and I got married on May 23, 2009 after dating for 4 years! We dated in high-school for a few months (which was just a silly high-school relationship that we don't even like to think about!) and then started dating again after we graduated high-school. He proposed on December 16, 2008 at the same place where we had our first date. It was so sweet and completely unexpected! Here's a few pictures from the proposal:
So anyway, back to the wedding. Ryan and I got married at the Montrose Arboretum, after our original wedding venue was double-booked on us. Talk about stressful. We absolutely LOVED LOVED the Montrose. It is an old southern house built in 1858 as a wedding gift for the daughter of Alfred Brooks. The grounds contain over 50 different trees, and it is absolutely breath-taking. Here are a few pictures of the venue:
This is the big magnolia tree that we got married under! It was in a courtyard, and we had white folding chairs that the guests sat in! It was perfect.
This is just another picture of the setup! This is after we had been pronounced as "Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Stevenson!" woot woot! (and yes, Ryan was skipping! Our whole wedding party danced out during the recessional. But I'll tell you about that in a different post!)
We got married in the courtyard, and then had our reception inside the house and under two huge white tents! Under one white tent were a bunch of tables, and under the other was our dance floor!
Our wedding day was so emotional. It was completely stress-free. [ i didn't think it was possible to have a stress-free wedding!] However, we did cry the whole entire day, especially during the ceremony. Talk about a water-fest. Ryan and I decided to see each other before the ceremony so we could have all morning to take pictures. Here are a few picture of our "first meet":
Ryan had to stand with his back to me, and I snuck up on him and tapped him on the shoulder. Then, he could turn around and see me!
This was when I was tapping his shoulder! I was so excited to finally see my groom!:
This was the first look! Can you tell that he was crying?
Our wedding day was the sweetest, most wonderful day of my life! We had the most incredible photographer in the world, Adam Hudson and the whole thing just went off without a hitch! Stay tuned for more pictures and details from our wedding!
