someone help me. i need suggestions, advice, tips... anything. I have this space in my loft that is driving me crazy. Everytime I look at it, i hate myself. (i know that sounds dramatic, but this is serious) During the Christmas season the space was inhabited by a tree, and now that the tree isn't there and that space is empty again, it's back to it's ugly, boring self. I've thought about putting a little reading nook in this space, but it just doesn't look perfect in my head. here are some pictures to give you an idea of what i'm dealing with:
so there's my problem. My sectional is not pushed up against the wall with the window on it, so it creates the square of space that I can not figure out what to do with. I used to have that bookshelf in that spaced pushed up against the wall that has the art on it, but it didn't look good. i hated it.
here is a picture standing towards the front of my loft. I just wanted to give you an idea of how the furniture is laid out in case you had some ideas.
Another picture of the empty space. It's big enough to hold like two chairs, if they were angled correctly. or I could put a chase there. but what do i put on the wall? should i get a small rug to help define the space? i think once I get drapes, it will help liven up the space.. but we have 12 foot ceilings... which equals custom drapes... which equals EXPENSIVE. so the drapes will have to wait.
So any ideas? Let me know what you think. I could use all the ideas I can get.

What if you moved the sofa toward the window and did a behind the sofa table with a few accessories. Or I think it would be a great spot for a desk area. Just a simple table and chair with maybe some artwork or a chalkboard for lists (but still modern). I am SOO jealous of your gorgeous loft! Completely beautiful! And great job decorating!
ReplyDeletecurtains for sure. i got my 96 inch pier 1 curtains on ebay for a great price. i dont think chairs bc you already have the recliners. what about several large floating shelves with some photos framed in dark frames propped on the shelves along with some accessories?
ReplyDeleteI think a rug, a chair, and a tree. A cool tree could be a nice splash of green and liveliness.. then hang some small prints...?
ReplyDeletewait. i agree with brittany. no chairs.. maybe a bench behind the couch or a desk could be cute like Ramsey said.
ReplyDeletemaybe or one of those big Mirrors from Ikea or some free standing shelfs?
ReplyDeletegood luck decorating is so hard for me :)
thanks for all the tips y'all! i'm not quite sure what I'll do yet, but these ideas are so helpful!
