our mini getaway.

so ryan and i wanted to go somewhere fancy and fun for my spring break, but ryan could not get the days off and the funds would not allow it. ((we're planning a big vacation for this summer)) So, instead, ryan and I planned two mini weekend getaways! This past weekend we went to our favorite weekend getaway spot---- Nashville. The food and shopping is good here, ladies.

he's a bear without his cup of joe in the morning.

... but i'm happy as long as you feed me.

We met up with a friend of a friend in Franklin and did a little shopping and had some yummy italian lunch. I love my australians. Hannah is super awesome. She runs her own online magazine called Love in Other Languages where she interviews famous Christian music artists and other celebrities about the cool non profit organizations they are involved in. How awesome is that job?

(this picture is terrible, but she's a doll!)

yummy italian lunch:

this AWESOME store called Philanthropy- fashion & compassion. They are a super cute vintage clothing boutique in Franklin that donates a portion of every sale to missions or a charity. Right now they are trying to raise $35,000 to purchase two wells that will sustain a village in Sudan. Check out this store and maybe even buy something! http://www.philanthropyfashion.co or http://philanthropyfashion.wordpress.com/

Ryan and I always eat like kings and queens when we go on vacation. We eat whatever we want, and we don't watch the calories either. We're wild and crazy. Watch out, y'all.

The Acorn Restaurant. Delish.

our new favorite breakie spot in nashville: ((thanks for the recommendation, hannah!!))

the love of my life.

in case you were wondering, NO, this is not healthy and YES, we ate all of it. You would too if you tasted it. Divine. We may or may not have gone into a food coma afterwards.

this is how we felt after we ate:

I truly believe that every married couple needs a little getaway at least a few times a year. I know it's hard with schedules and expenses, but your getaway doesn't have to be a bank-breaker! Married couples need time to regroup. Time to spend with each other, away from the rest of the world and the worries and busyness of home. Time to focus ONLY on one another. I love my time with Ryan. I always feel so close to him after our vacations.

vacations are good for the married soul.
