It's hard to believe that our one year anniversary has already come and gone. Our first year of marriage has been perfect. The Lord has blessed us in so many ways and I've absolutely loved this year of living with Ryan and growing deeper in love with him. We dated long distance for four years so I'm incredibly thankful to have him by my side everyday. This year has been so much fun and the Lord has allowed us to go on so many fun trips and do so many great things! what a fantastic man.
We spent our anniversary by doing things we love with people we love. We didn't really have the money to take a trip or buy each other gifts because we're about to move into a loft and we're trying to save money for a trip to Montana in July. However, that didn't stop us from having a fun and romantic weekend! Our anniversary was on Sunday, May 23 and Ryan surprised me by taking off work on Friday so we could have a long weekend together!
Friday morning I woke up and made him a yummy breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, and fruit! Then we decided to go fishing at his parent's lake, so we packed up Ruby and our fishing poles and spent the afternoon fishin! (one of our favorite things to do together is fish!)
Ruby thought that the bobber was a ball and that by casting it into the lake, we were throwing it for her. So she jumped into the lake every time we cast the line and chased the bobber as we reeled it in. It was hilarious and so cute!
Friday night we decided to go on our anniversary date! We went to Mesquite Chop House ( a yummy steak house) and then went and got some coffee and then went to see Iron Man 2! it was so nice to have a fancy date night!
Saturday morning Ryan and I slept in and then went and got breakfast together! Our families came over in the afternoon and we ate our wedding cake and then watched the video from our wedding day! In case you missed it, HERE is a link to the wedding montage my videographer posted! We're both so close to our families so it was special to share our wedding cake with them!
Saturday night we had our good friends Daniel and Lialah over and we made a delicious dinner of shrimp, citrus and cilantro rice, fresh green beans, and rolls! Lialah made us a scrumptious caramel cake! (recipes to come later!)
On Sunday (our actual anniversary), Ryan and I ran some errands and had sushi and rented a movie for dinner!
We had such a great weekend and I'm so thankful for this past year! I can't wait to spend the rest of my years with my sweet husband!

ahhh - Happy One year!!! Hey - I dont even know what happened to the top of our cake... hmmm...
ReplyDeleteDid you like Iron Man 2? I was VERY disappointed... but a night at the movie is always better then being at home, right?
